We are delighted to announce that Weiwei He, Director at Tangerine, has been invited to serve as a judge for this year’s Red Dot Design Award in Germany. Recognised as one of the most esteemed global design competitions, the Red Dot Awards celebrate excellence and innovation across various design disciplines.

With 20 years of experience in mobility design—spanning aviation, rail, and automotive projects for some of the world’s most renowned brands—Weiwei will bring her expertise to evaluate outstanding designs in the following categories over the next two months:

About Weiwei He

Weiwei He is a Director at tangerine, a globally renowned design consultancy at the forefront of mobility innovation. Originally from Chongqing, China, she moved to London to pursue her master’s degree in Industrial and Product Design at Central Saint Martins (UAL), graduating in 2006, before joining tangerine as a designer.

With over two decades of experience, Weiwei has established herself as a visionary and versatile design leader, driving transformative solutions in consumer products, automotive, rail, and aircraft cabin interiors. Her expertise in cross-sector innovation has been pivotal in redefining passenger experiences within the mobility sector.

Weiwei has successfully led and collaborated on high-profile projects with internationally recognised partners such as Amtrak, Cathay Pacific, CRRC, Deutsche Bahn, Talgo, and Volkswagen.

A respected thought leader, particularly in the field of rail design, Weiwei is a sought-after speaker at global trade and design conferences. She has also served as a juror for prestigious awards such as the Rail Interior Awards and Design Week Awards, underlining her commitment to design excellence and innovation on the world stage.

As a Red Dot judge, Weiwei will contribute her extensive knowledge and keen design sensibility to identify and celebrate the most outstanding and forward-thinking designs in mobility.
